MUSICAL INFLUENCES

What are your biggest music influences?

Secular influences :

My mom is definitely my biggest music influence. As the youngest of a family of five. I am the one who did everything and went everywhere with our mom including attending her choir rehearsals and being exposed to everything she did both at home and musically. I remember being just a little child and I could sing some of her choir songs fully because I had heard it so many times. I still remember her beautiful voice in my head to this day singing those angelic choir songs. I think that's where it all started.

John Legend is my other big influence. Before I came to know the Lord fully, before I gave up listening to secular music, John Legend had a huge influence on me musically. I was exposed to John Legend as a Freshman in college and I downloaded his album entitled " Get Lifted".  That album and the way he sings had a big influence on me musically.

Other secular artists who had a lot of influence on me musically include Cameroonian artists such as Wes Madico, Sam Fan Thomas, Richard Bona, Francis bebey, Manu Dibango, Bebe Manga, Kotto Bass, Eboa Lotin etc. Other artists who influenced me are: Mario, Le the Top Ok Jazz, Papa Wemba, Patience Dabany, Annie Flore Batchiellilys, Corneille, Singuila, Lokua Kanza, M'Bilia Bel, Ismael Lo, Pascal Obispo, Nuttea, MC Solar, Neg'marrons, Bisso Na Bisso, Passi and the list goes on and on.

Christian influences :

Now after I came to know Jesus Christ fully, my influences became Christian because I was born again and everything in my life changed including the artists I listen to. So my new music influence ranges from African Gospel singers like the congolese group Gael, the nigerian worshipper Agatha Moses, Guilou, to the french group Exo, Dan Luiten, Luc Dumont, Tabitha Lemaire, Don Moen, Ron Kenoly, Donnie McCurklin, Kirk Franklin, Smokie Norful, Anthony Evans, Hillsongs, Lecrae, NF etc.

MY STORY

My story is like the story of the prodigal son. I knew God, served God but the world creeped back in my heart and pulled me away from God. BUT our heavenly father in his infinite mercy chased after my heart everyday with his unfailing love and brought me back home. I am home now, clothed with righteousness and sitting in my seat as a child of God, living to bring him honor and to serve Him wholeheartedly. Unless he leads, I ain't moving. I wasted a lot of time doing as I pleased. Now it's all about His Will and his direction.
